Prepare yourself for the incredible spectacle presented by the Red-spectacled Parrots in Urupema. This is the only time of year when they gather in mind-boggling flocks of thousands, moving from one patch of Araucaria Pine Trees to the other. It's a natural event that every human being should witness in their lifetime. Apart from this special moment, there are manyother great South Brazilian endemics, such as Paraná Antwren, Restinga Tyrannulet, Kaempfer’s Tody-Tyrant, Scaled Chachalaca, and more. Additionally, you'll be able to indulge in delicious cuisine and witness breathtaking landscapes along the way.
Difficulty level
For the most part, this trip involves minimal walking. However, there will be a few days when we will embark on longer hikes, at most 6 km. Though this is not primarily a photo tour, excellent photo opportunities throughout the journey. Although there will be some extended drives, spending two nights in most locations will ensure that we are well-rested.

BBE has been a great company to bird with! Our guide, Fernando, was super knowledgeable about the region's birds and was always happy to answer the group's questions. The group was a nice size, not too big, and the accommodations were nice independent spots. Even when I had an odd flight leaving the country they accommodated me and arranged my transport to the different airport. I would recommend this tour group to anyone!
