Difficulty
Medium
Although quite challenging due to some remote areas we will be visiting, this is one of the most hallucinating trips that we offer. In this complete version, spending 21 days in the western Brazilian Amazon and driving approximately 2500km we have the chance of seeing over 500 bird species including extremely rare and enigmatic species such as Rondonia Bushbird, Chico’s Tyrannulet, Rufous Twistwing and many more! Adventure yourself through this difficult yet amazing trip in the Brazilian Amazon.

Difficulty level
This tour is classified as a medium to high difficulty level due to the long hikes required to spot the unique birds of this region. The hot and humid weather conditions make the days a bit challenging, but the rewards are always worth it. To prepare for this tour, make sure to stay hydrated, take breaks, and rest during the several nights we will spend at the same location.

Bruno Renno is a star! Not only is he a top field birder and fun guy he also mixes a world-class caipirinha ; )

BBE provided another superb tour with a skilled, hard working guide who very quickly worked out what made us tick and adjusted his style accordingly. I’d love to bird with Bruno again sometime.

The guide, Bruno Renno, was truly exceptional in every way - fantastic birding skills.

This was an excellent tour of Rondonia and Acre lead by Bruno, with superb birds throughout and the right balance of time at each site.

BBE planned and executed our tours to find the most birds possible. I wound up with 746 birds seen, and another 50 plus heard only. And we had great fun in the process! Both guides were top notch, recognizing the faintest of songs and the shortest of chirps. Caio's enthusiasm and high energy level in particular drove us to new heights! We had memorable, almost spiritual experiences with several birds thanks to Caio's willingness to go off the beaten path. Each guide also could tap into a network of birding experts who could provide tips for finding the more difficult birds. I also compliment the organization of the BBE team, who not only put together a complicated tour package and made all the adjustments needed when Rio Grande do Sul's airport flooded but also thought of our comfort, such as booking a day hotel for us for our long layover in Sao Paulo. I also recognize the importance Caio and the other BBE guides are playing to introducing new areas to birding, such as the unmatched experience of the pristine birding at Pira Acu, and I understand more new areas for birding are being explored. Many thanks to Caio and Fernando for their excellence and their patience. I also commend BBE for continually striving to exceed its already stellar performance. Bravo, BBE!!
