South Pantanal Pre-Tour

In this pre-tour, you will visit the lovely South Pantanal and its rich avifauna with the influence of Cerrado habitats. Boat rides, feeders, safaris, and trails in Pousada Aguapé will give us the opportunity to explore a wide variety of habitats and see many bird species and, of course, a few mammals if we’re lucky. In the famous Buraco das Araras we will be delighted by the Red-and-green Macaws as they fly in synchrony inside the canyon.
Difficulty level
Low. During our birding and wildlife-watching trip, we will primarily use safaris, boat trips, and short walks. Since it is hot and dry during the middle of the day in the Pantanal, we will take a break during that time. Our accommodations will be located within the areas where we will be birding, except in the Jardim area, where we will stay in the city. Because we will be mainly in open areas, it will be easy to spot birds, and the conditions will be good for photography. At Jardim da Amazônia, it is a different style, as it is a forest, it is not so easy to spot the birds, and the photographic opportunities are lower.
