South Pantanal Extension - October

Four days in the southern Pantanal, where the great wetland meets the dry Chaco and Cerrado, adding a different cast of birds to the Central Brazil Tour. Based at Pousada Aguapé, a cattle farm held by the same family for over 150 years, we bird exclusive trails and boat rides among Hyacinth Macaws, Chaco Chachalacas, and Toco Toucans, with feeders full of colour at breakfast and a real chance of Giant Anteater out in the open grasslands. Then we cross to Jardim and the Buraco das Araras, a vast sinkhole over 100 metres deep where Red-and-green Macaws wheel against red rock in one of Brazil's great wildlife spectacles. Short, comfortable, and rich in southern pantanal specialties, it is the perfect complement to the northern Pantanal and Central Brazil Tour.
