Wagner Nogueira

Wagner Nogueira is a Brazilian ornithologist whose passion for birds began in childhood and naturally evolved into a lifelong dedication to ornithology and conservation. Over the years, he has gained extensive field experience across Brazil’s major biomes, especially the Atlantic Forest, Cerrado, Caatinga, and Amazonia. His knowledge is grounded in thousands of hours in the field, observing and documenting Brazil’s rich avifauna in a wide range of ecosystems.

Since 2009, Wagner has served as a moderator of WikiAves, Brazil’s largest ornithological database. Through this work, he has contributed to citizen science efforts and helped connect birdwatchers, researchers, and conservationists across the country.

His interests include ecology, taxonomy, biogeography, and bioacoustics — areas that deepen his understanding of how species are distributed and how Neotropical bird communities function. In recent years, he has also expanded his focus to the management and conservation of native stingless bees, reflectin
