Eduardo Franco
Edu Franco was born and raised in Minas Gerais, at the foot of the Espinhaço Range, where he cultivated his love for nature and the picturesque mountains of the region. Like any true "mineiro," Edu is known for his warmth and attention to the smallest details.
Edu holds a degree in Biology with a specialization in Animal Behavior. During his academic journey, he spent five years researching the behavior of neotropical primates, focusing specifically on black-fronted titi monkeys. His passion for birdwatching began in 2005 and has only grown stronger since. In 2015, he ventured into tourism, organizing and leading his first wildlife observation and photography trips.
With a deep passion for the Cerrado and Campo Rupestre (Rocky Fields) ecosystems, Edu is now a recognized expert in tours to these habitats, known for their unique specialties and endemisms. Along the way, he completed an MBA in Project Management and developed an interest in institutional work and leadership roles. Edu is one of the organizers of Avistar Brasil and Avistar Minas, as well as a leader of Brasil Silvestre, the Brazilian Association of Wildlife Guides.
Edu firmly believes that nature tourism is a key tool for education and environmental conservation. For years, he has dedicated himself to enhancing and advancing this activity in Brazil.

I have travelled with BBE two times now and would highly recommend them for their commitment to provide a fantastic birding experience in Brazil. The service provided is genuine and personal and they make a real effort to show the desired species. The company has very good contacts will skilled local ornithologists and birders in Brazil which provide great opportunities to see some very hard to see species. Looking forward to travel with BBE again soon!

I loved the Espirito Santo/Minas Gerais tour. Our personable guide, Eduardo Franco, worked hard to ensure that each person felt that he was working to show them birds that they wanted. As a group, we managed to find over 400 species, and Eduardo helped us to see (or hear) them quite well. BBE worked well with us to explain what was needed before the trip and overall organization was excellent. When I had a few hiccups with my travel to the start of the tour, BBE easily accommodated them. Communication before, during and after the trip was very good.

I was very pleased with the professionalism of Biologist and Birdwatching Guide Edu Franco. The expedition was organized down to the smallest detail, based on my species list. It was also a pleasant, light and instructive trip. I learned a lot from Edu. I recommend!
